Each fall, the Flint River Council hosts a popcorn fundraiser, and Pack 118 participates as part of this council-wide effort. Families may choose to participate in one or more of the selling options below.
1. Order Form Sales
Scouts can sell popcorn using a traditional paper order form, collecting orders from family, friends, and neighbors. Orders are submitted by the council’s deadline, and popcorn is delivered at a later date. Families are responsible for distributing popcorn to their customers once it arrives. This is a tried-and-true method that works well each year.
2. Online Sales
Scouts will receive access to an online sales portal once the fundraiser begins. This portal can be shared via email, text message, or social media, making it a great option for friends and family who live out of town. Orders placed online are shipped directly to the customer’s home.
3. Show-N-Sell
Scouts may also participate in “Show-N-Sell” events, where popcorn is sold in person at approved storefronts, fairs, or community events. The Pack will pre-order a limited quantity of popular items for these events. Availability is first-come, first-served, and the Pack Fundraising Chair coordinates inventory and scheduling.
Proceeds from popcorn sales are distributed as follows:
50% covers the cost of popcorn and prizes
20% supports Flint River Council programs and operations
10% supports Pack 118 expenses
25% is credited to each Scout’s individual Scout Account, which can be used for activities, dues, and other Scouting-related expenses
In addition, Scouts earn prizes based on total sales, as outlined in the council prize program provided with the order forms.
Each spring, the Flint River Council hosts a Camp Card fundraiser, and Pack 118 participates in this council-sponsored program. Camp Cards are discount cards that include four single-use coupons on the front and a center card with multiple reusable discounts. All participating businesses are local to the county listed on the card. Since the Flint River Council serves multiple counties, Camp Cards are available for several surrounding areas.
The Pack Fundraising Chair receives a predetermined number of Camp Cards from the Council and distributes them to families on a first-come, first-served basis. If additional cards are needed, the Fundraising Chair will coordinate with the Council to request more, subject to availability.
Scouts may sell Camp Cards in several approved ways:
Friends and Family: Cards may be sold to friends, family members, and neighbors. Door-to-door sales are permitted within your own neighborhood, but Scouts must always be accompanied by an adult.
Storefront Sales: Scouts may set up in front of approved local businesses to sell Camp Cards to passersby. Permission must be obtained from both Pack leadership and the store manager before setting up.
Camp Card proceeds are distributed as follows:
50% is credited to the Scout’s individual Scout Account
50% supports Flint River Council programs and operations
In addition, Scouts who meet a council-determined sales goal may earn a free week of Day Camp, which is the inspiration behind the Camp Card program.
Pack 118 is our partnership with Tidal Wave Auto Spa, where we sell discounted car wash vouchers to support our Scouting program. These vouchers can be used at participating Tidal Wave locations and make a great gift for family, friends, or coworkers.
Funds raised through this fundraiser directly support Pack activities, awards, camping equipment, and event costs—helping keep Scouting accessible and affordable for all families.
How it works:
Scouts sell Tidal Wave Auto Spa car wash coupons
Coupons can be purchased from the Pack Store
Proceeds go directly back to Pack 118
If you have questions about the fundraiser or need additional coupons, please contact your Den Leader or the Pack Committee.
